She is an experienced consultant in the area of organization effectiveness, leadership development, total quality and change management.
As Executive Coach, senior consultant, and accredited FranklinCovey facilitator, she conducts workshops in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective PeopleR, Leadership GreatnessTM, 4 Disciplines of ExecutionTM, strategic planning, and teambuilding.
She was the Human Resources Associate Director and internal consultant for Organization Development, Total Quality Management, and Corporate Training at Procter & Gamble Phils. for ten years. She served as the 1993 President of the Philippine Society for Training & Development (PSTDF), as the 2006 Chairman of the Philippine Society for Training and Development Foundation, and as 2004-2006 vice- president of the Philippine Quality and Productivity Movement.
Prior to joining Procter & Gamble Phils. in 1986, Mrs. Mapa was the HRD manager of Phil. Phosphate Fertilizer Corporation, and supervising consultant to the Bureau of Domestic Trade, Department of Trade and Industry. For several years, She served as faculty member of Assumption San Lorenzo, High School and College Departments.
She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Education, Summa cum Laude from Assumption College, and subsequently completed graduate studies in Sociology and Anthropology at Silliman University.
Mrs. Mapa has participated in various courses in the field of Human Resource Management and Development. In December 1987, she was awarded by the US Instructional Systems Associates (ISA) for a unique application of Targeted Selection in the Philippine rural setting, at award ceremonies held in New York City, in conjunction with the PERSONNEL TRAINING 1987 Convention.
She was accredited by Innovation Associates of Framingham, Massachusetts as a certified instructor for Visionary Leadership Planning. In January of 1989, she became the first Filipino to be accredited Facilitator for the Seven Basic Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey & Associates in Provo, Utah. Subsequently, Stephen R. Covey himself accredited her as a 7 HabitsR Master Facilitator on July 19, 1990.
As an experienced consultant in Total Quality Management she was project coordinator and examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige Self-Assessment at Procter & Gamble Philippines, in 1994. Due to her experiences in the field of Human Resource Development, she has been invited on various occasions as resource speaker and facilitator. She has conducted courses for Procter & Gamble subsidiaries in Australia, India, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. She has also facilitated workshops for other multinational companies in Bangkok, Jakarta and Guam.
As consultant in Human Resources and Organization Development, she has assisted several companies in installing systems and processes related to leadership development, organization diagnosis, transition management, strategic planning, performance management, total quality, continuous improvement and career development.
In 1994, she received the Outstanding Alumna Award from Assumption College on the occasion of its Centennial celebration, in recognition for her contributions to the field of Human Resource Development. In December 2000, she was elected National Coordinator of the Community of Assumption Laity in the Philippines, and appointed Asian Representative to the Permanent Worldwide Council of Assumption Lay from 2002 to 2007.
Together with her husband, Mr. Domingo Mapa, she has been active in family-oriented organizations. She is involved in the New Humanity Movement of the Focolare, the Vice- President of the Marie Eugenie Institute of Assumption College, and currently a Member of the De La Salle University Board of Trustees.
